The through-line

Twenty years in health education. The job title changes; the question doesn't. Somebody has to learn something difficult, and it has to actually work.

  • Organisation

    Organisational Development Lead

    A national health regulator 2025 – present

    Leading a specialist team building capability across the whole employee lifecycle: leadership development, talent and succession, performance and development, culture and engagement. The work is measurement-led: employee surveys, focus groups and people data decide what gets built, and then whether it worked.

  • Workforce capability

    Manager, Technical and Operational Training

    A national health regulator 2024 – 2025

    Led a team building the training that carried regulatory operations staff through a major platform transition. Technical retraining for people whose day-to-day work was changing underneath them.

    Executive Director, Education Services

    CRANAplus 2023 – 2024

    Three teams and the national education portfolio: 104 courses delivered across remote and rural Australia by ten remote clinical educators and ninety-nine volunteer facilitators. Implemented a new learning management platform and reported to the board.

    Clinical Education Manager

    St Vincent's Health Australia 2018 – 2023

    Twenty Masters-qualified educators across two campuses and more than ten concurrent programs. Built the annual clinical competency assessment, ran education through the COVID response, and established a First Nations employment partnership.

    Senior Lecturer

    Charles Darwin University 2016 – 2017

    Redesigned an AQF Level 7 nursing curriculum for more than 600 students taught simultaneously in Darwin, Alice Springs and Sydney, supported by twenty-five facilitators.

    Unit Coordinator, Clinical Subject Area Coordinator

    Queensland University of Technology 2011 – 2016

    Six thousand students over five years, and eighty clinical facilitators. Led the clinical component of the school's TEQSA re-accreditation and supervised doctoral candidates.

    Lecturer, Clinical Facilitator, Nurse Researcher

    University of Sydney and UNSW 2007 – 2010

    Teaching nurses on the ward and in the classroom, and researching what actually happens to them in their first year of practice. That research became the PhD, and everything after it.

Where that leads
